Jeffrey Pang​

Jeffrey Pang is an associate in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, and a member of the Corporate Commercial Group. He has a broad corporate and commercial practice, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, commercial arrangements, commercial agreements and corporate governance.

Jeffrey both summered and articled with BLG before joining the Firm as an Associate in 2017.

As an articling student, he was seconded to the Bank of Montreal.

Michelle Seto

Michelle Seto is an associate at Bennett Jones LLP’s Banking and Financial Services group. She represents both lenders and borrowers in domestic and cross-border syndicated financings, asset-based loans, and debt restructurings. She is currently seconded at Bank of Montreal’s Derivatives Group. Prior to attending law school at the University of Toronto (“UofT”), Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. Michelle is passionate about the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession especially for racialized women lawyers as well as student mentorship.

As a board member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (“FACL”), she spearheads FACL’s mentorship program and social and networking events and co-chairs FACL’s Women’s Committee. Michelle is an active member of the UofT law alumni and devotes substantial time to mentoring law school students.

James Fu

James Fu is a Partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.

James’ approach is practical and zealous advocacy for all of his clients. Practical solutions, in a cost-effective manner, as well as being a tireless advocate, drives James mindset and mantra each and every day.

James’ practice is a broad and multi-faceted human resources law practice, focusing on labour and employment law and pension and benefits law.

James' labour and employment practice includes advising employers and executive level employees on employment terminations, employment contracts, pension and benefits entitlements, independent contractor arrangements and human rights matters including both litigation and corporate transaction settings.

James’ pension and benefits practice includes advising plan administrators and employers on a broad range of matters, including pension and benefits plan set-ups and establishing retirement income plans in corporate transactions.

James has various appearances before Ontario courts and tribunals on a number of matters, including wrongful dismissal actions and human rights complaints. James has acted on more than a hundred transactions, including private and broader public sector transactions.
